School: Doane Stuart
Hometown: Saratoga Springs
Year: Senior
Sport: Basketball
Position: Center

Noteworthy: Wager has thrived as a vital part of the Doane Stuart basketball team, a young basketball program that has already come a long way. A first-team Central Hudson Valley League All-Star selection this season, Wager was second in the league for points scored (332) and his 19.5 points per game ranked him sixth in all of Section II. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound center also led the CHVL in rebounds and blocks and will be a starter in the CHVL Exceptional Senior Game on March 11. He had nine games in the regular season when he scored more than 20 points, including a season-high 30 scored on Feb. 3 vs. Waterford.

Wager on his basketball future after high school graduation:

"I have been recruited by about 30 colleges throughout the country. I applied to Tufts, Wesleyan, Vassar, Haverford, Oberlin, Kenyon and Bard, and I plan to play basketball at one of these schools."

On what he will study in college:

"I hope to study various liberal arts. I have a special interest in music - I play piano - and biology, but I am not sure what I will major in yet."

On what it has been like to play at Doane Stuart, a small private school in Albany:

"Playing basketball at Doane Stuart has been a great experience. Even though we have had rough seasons in the CHVL, I have had a lot of fun with the team and I have gained confidence playing basketball throughout my four years on the team."
