Doane Stuart is Pleased to Welcome Geoffrey M. Bowman, Dean of Students

The Doane Stuart Community is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Geoffrey M. Bowman as Dean of Students in the Upper School.

Mr. Bowman earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minor in French, from Union College, where he has spent the last eight years as Assistant Dean of Admission and, then, more recently, as Associate Dean of Admissions.

Mr. Bowman is married to Katie Dwyer Bowman, a former Doane Stuart Summer Camp Counselor, and current teacher of English and track coach in New Paltz. He is an avid hiker, traveler, and marathon runner. He has traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, speaks fluent French, and has a passion for World War One history. Additionally, he is fascinated by Irish History and culture, has written on the subject, and is also interested in our Exchange Program with Lagan College.

While at Union, Mr. Bowman represented the Admissions Office on the College’s 10-year Middle States Accreditation Review, and was integrally involved in College Horizons, a program that helps Native American students better prepare themselves for college.

We all look forward to welcoming Mr. Bowman to the community on July 1, 2012.
