Haltermann '12, Honored by WNYT
Recent Doane Stuart graduate, Tim Haltermann ’12 of Windham, was honored by WNYT News Channel 13 on Thursday, June 14, at the New York State Museum in Albany.Tim, pictured right, with News Channel 13 co-anchor Jessica Layton, uses his talents to help others as a volunteer with the Windham Adaptive Ski Program. He devotes part of each weekend to sharing his love of the sport with physically challenged children. The cause is important to Tim, and it is personal. His father, Bill Haltermann, is an amputee, and Tim is passionate about helping others overcome the same obstacles his father has known. Tim trains skiers for the Special Olympics and Paralympics. Thanks to Tim’s efforts, individuals who struggle to walk are learning how to race down a mountain.
