Middle School
A BALANCE OF FREEDOM AND DIRECTION
The Middle School years are marked by transformation. With our guidance and support, students begin to understand that they play a role in shaping their educations and their futures. We lay the foundation with a strong, traditional curriculum, including an emphasis on writing in every subject area. At the same time, we encourage students to discover their potential and put it to good use, both within and beyond the classroom.
Middle School students study literature, history, math and algebra, French or Spanish, science in classrooms, out of doors, and on field trips. They play on athletic teams, learn to use a computer, listen to the news, go on Saturday outings, discuss ethical situations and relationships, sing in a chorus and play in a band; they are busy and curious young people. They are encouraged to work with and for those less advantaged than they, and they are asked to take leadership opportunities seriously.
