Doane Stuart is proud to announce the graduation of Antonia DiPreta from the University of Vermont. Antonia majored in Animal Science and minored in both English and Chemistry. Antonia received The Brett Klein Memorial Scholarship which is presented to CREAM student herd advisors with sincere appreciation for and acknowledgement of their dedication, responsible leadership and friendly attitude exemplified by Brett Klein as well as excellence in teaching, advising, and passing on the CREAM tradition. In addition, Antonia received the George H. Walker Award which is awarded by faculty vote to an Animal and Veterinary Sciences major who exhibits conspicuous merit in the studies pertaining to Dairy Science and especially in those courses relating to the production and/or processing of market milk, and who furthermore exhibit high and noble traits of leadership and character.” Antonia was nominated for this award by faculty in recognition of her significant involvement in the dairy program at UVM.
Antonia will be attending the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University starting in the Fall of 2022. Cornell only accepts 16% of the applicants to this program. Way to go, Antonia!
When asked if Antonia felt prepared for college she indicated: “Sure, college has its difficulties, but I am grateful every day for the dedication to college preparation I felt at DS because it really set me up to pursue the challenges of higher education. I owe a good proportion of my successes to the community and education of Doane Stuart.”
