Doane Stuart completed an undefeated season by besting Loudonville Christian school 4-0 last week. Joey DiPreta ’21 (who just signed to Suny New Paltz, playing soccer) finished his High School career by scoring 3 goals and controlling the midfield most of the game. On defense, Ben Guilbault ’21 had another strong game for the Thunderchickens. Guilbault and the Doane Stuart defense allowed few chances and only 4 shots on the net. Scoreless until the 30-minute mark of the first half, Napoleon Htoo found DiPreta open on the left side of the box and he put it into the far side netting just under a diving Cam Simon. Simon had a strong game for Loudonville recording 11 saves. Simon was aided on defense by a strong performance by Nate Scott. It stood at 1-0 for halftime, but the relentless pressure that Doane Stuart was applying finally started opening up some cracks in the Loudonville defense. DiPreta would add two more on fantastic individual efforts and Myo Pine would get the final goal chipping over the keeper.
Doane Stuart earns its second consecutive CHVL Championship with the win.
Congratulations! And thank you to rising photographer, Luan Nguyen ’22, for his amazing photography this season!
