Four Upper School students will have their work displayed at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy as part of the 2015 Fence Show. For this year’s Fence Show, 40 pieces were submitted by 33 student artists from the Capital District. Eliza Henneberry ’15 of Canaan, Nora Kane ’15 of Albany, Ariel Robinson ’15 of Glenmont and Lauren Nelson ’16 of Hollowville will all have their work shown at the gallery from May 22-June 27. As part of the Troy Night Out celebration, there will be an Artists’ Reception on Friday, May 29 from 5:00-9:00pm, with the award winners announced at 7:00pm.
Celebrating its 50th year, the Fence show is the Arts Center’s longest running and biggest exhibition. From the website, “The Fence Show is an annual opportunity for all Arts Center members to display their work in our galleries. Over 500 pieces are typically accepted and displayed. Works include paintings, drawing, photography, fiber arts, stained glass, and sculpture. There is a separate category that welcomes submissions from young artists in grades K-12.” Visit the Art Center’s website for more information.
