Congratulations to Monica Gault ’20 who won gold in figure skating at the Empire State Winter Games held in early February. The Games, held in Lake Placid, bring together over 1,500 athletes from across the State to compete in a multi-day competition featuring a variety of sports. Skating with the Hudson Mohawk Figure Skating Club, Monica won her gold medal at the Intermediate Test Track level. Intermediate test track incorporates the following figure skating elements: a roughly 2:30 program set to music; a maximum of 6 jumping elements, including a double salchow or double toe loop; 2 spins, one of which must be a flying spin; one step sequence using the entire ice space and previous successful completion of the juvenile test track level.
