2015 is the year the records fell for the Thunder Rams (Doane Stuart-Rensselaer) Track and Field team. The boys and girls teams are currently 4-2 in the Patroon Conference and are having their strongest year in DS history. Here is a report of the most recent track meets:
Luciano Invitation, Saturday, April 25. Held at Hudson Falls High School
Amelia Stapleton ’15 of Troy established a school record in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 17.58 seconds (previously 17.6). She also took 4th place in the 400m Hurdles, with a time of 71.33 seconds.
Liam Lynch ’15 of Albany took 2nd place in the 400m dash, in a time of 51.23 seconds.
The boys had two relay teams win medals by placing in the top six.
The 3200m relay team of Lynch, Gawain Semlear ’17 of Chatham, Thomas Mathes ’16 of Coxsackie, and Zak Maurer of Rensselaer took 6th place with a time of 8:45.
The 1600m relay team of Lynch, Semlear, Maurer and Brandon Clancy of Rensselaer took 4th place with 3:41.

Girls 400m Relay – Abby Hanna ’16 of Averill Park, Giovita Johnson, Christina Bellamy, Michaela Cancer (all of Rensselaer) – 55.64 (previously 56.53)
Javelin – Jon Hacker ’16 of Schenectady- 53′ 4″ (no previous record)

The final home track meet for the 2015 season is this Thursday, May 7 vs Cairo-Durham CSD and Windham-Ashland-Jewett CSD. Come on out and support our Thunder-Rams as they endeavor to set new records on their home track one last time.
