Lower and Middle School students welcomed grandparents and special friends to the Golub Interfaith Chapel for Doane Stuart’s annual Grandparents Day celebration. After being welcomed to Doane Stuart by Mrs. Clarke, Lower School students and the Middle School choir performed a selection of songs, including “Grandma, Grandpa We Love You” and “Dites-Moi Pourquio,” a special selection from the musical South Pacific.
Mrs. Brown discussed Doane Stuart’s 40th Anniversary and shared a short slide show about the School’s rich history and continued dedication to education. Following the Chapel, students invited their guests to their classrooms for activities and to see some of the work they have been doing in School this fall.
A speical thank you to Dawson Stone ’18 of East Greenbush for his piano playing prior to the Chapel, to Kate Hassett ’23 of Coxsackie, Rowe Davenport ’23 of Albany and Veronica Murray ’22 of Albany for their opening and closing prayers, to Dalton Hanaway ’17 of Saratoga Springs for his impressive bagpipe playing and to Mrs. Pflegl for her work with the Lower School and Middle School to prepare for their musical performances.
